Games

At Riddle & Rook, I create table-top role-playing games and scenarios for other TTRPGs. You can find all of my products so far listed below.

My Games

Wandering Crows

Wandering Crows is  a fast, easy-to-learn TTRPG that you can play with only a few decks of cards, but that has all of the storytelling possibilities and character design options of a more complex game. High fantasy? Cyberpunk heists? Space opera? Regency night at the opera? Wandering Crows can do it all, and in a compact package, too!

Adventure Scenarios

Pocket Dungeons

Pocket Dungeons are hand-drawn maps on one side, and adventure notes on the other. They’re system-neutral and designed to help you plan your next adventure fast! And, with a bit of creative folding and a single cut, they fold up into a tiny booklet that fits in your pocket! You can bring them anywhere you might want to game!

A sample pocket dungeon. One side of the paper has a dungeon map on it. The other side of the paper has text describing the rooms in the map, printed so that the page can be folded up into a small, 8-page booklet. This type of booklet is also called a "pocket mod." The dungeon scenario is called "The Dragon of Destiny" and was created by John Lynch specifically for Lobocon 2024.

D&D Adventures

I’ve written dozens of adventures for D&D 5E over the years. As I publish them, I’ll list them here.

  • The Cold Traveler. A wild forest. A lost traveler. An ancient curse. NO ESCAPE. The Cold Traveler is a quick side quest for your favorite fantasy table-top role-playing game. Drop in the initial encounter to add a dose of horror and mystery to your campaign, or add a quest hook for a full adventure! Get it now on Itch.io! Plus, get free stat blocks for the adventure for both 5e and ICRPG!

Vaesen Mysteries

Vaesen is my favorite game system for Victorian-ish supernatural mysteries and horror. It’s easy to learn and fun to play. My mysteries include high-quality props and clues that you can print and hand out to your players.

  • Before the Flood: The idyllic town of Foranger doesn’t know that it’s it terrible danger. Can your investigators solve the mystery and save the town? Or will the glacier break and destroy the town and everyone in it? Get it now on DriveThru.rpg!

Honey Heist Scenarios

Grant Howitt’s Honey Heist is my favorite game system for drop-in, no planning play. If you’re looking for something easy, quick, and productively silly, get yourself a copy! My scenarios include NPC biols, maps, props, and suggested encounters or challenges to help you get the scenario started.

  • Before the Hammer Falls: Honeycon 2024’s charity auction has the honey community “buzzing!” It features a wide selection of rare and collectible honeys, but all of the eyes (and noses, and tongues) will be focused on the final lot: a single bottle of 1983 Chateau d’Yquoi honey! Experts said there weren’t any bottles left! It will go for millions… unless your crew gets to it first! Get it now on Itch.io!

Dread Scenarios

Dread is my favorite game system for horror. Instead of rolling dice, you pull blocks from a Jenga tower! And when the tower falls… your character dies!

  • Night at the Museum: Each of you has a good reason to be at the Museum of Cultural History after closing time. But will you get what you came for? Or will the terror that stalks the museum claim you before the sun rises? Coming Soon!
